Scary but yummy

Scorpions are mainly known for their talent to kill their preys, so it's hard to imagine that bug ending up in our plates… You may be surprised to learn that scorpions are full of protein and many other nutrients. And it gets better: did you know the tail, which hold the sting, is the most nutrient-full part of the animal? An other important fact: scorpions are not actual insects, they are arthropods, cousins of spiders. The exact type of scorpions we have chosen for you are Mesobuthus martensii. 

Scorpions make a perfect snack

In China and Thailand, scorpions are traditionally sold on sticks, ready to be crunched on the street, as a snack. Local people like them for their natural taste of smoked bacon. They also make great finger food to share with friends while having a few drinks. Just like chicken wings, you can deep them into ketchup, hot salsa or whatever sauce you feel like having with them. This may surprise you as well, but scorpions can be used in dessert too. They taste delicous when covered with some melted chocolate…

A mythical creature

Humans have always been fascinated by scorpions. In many culture, the smal animal is a symbol of strength. In Ancient Egypt, Scorpions had a godlike dimension. The godess Serket was shown as a sorpion or as a woman with a scorpion on her head. In traditional Chinese medecine, scorpions are used to stimulate the circulatory system and also, logically, to help men's libido… Today, we know that scorpions are one the rare creatures on Earth to be able to survive a nuclear explosion. Unlike most animals, they are very resistant to radiations.
